Izamal, Light and Sound Show (from Merida, Yucatan)

Enjoy a magical night in Izamal, full of history, colorful and mysticism. Departing from Merida, the ride to Izamal takes an hour where you will visit the Convent of Saint Francis, founded in the 17th century and having the largest atrium of America and the second largest in the World.

This visit includes a city tour on board a horse-drawn vehicle (calash) through the romantic-colonial streets. We will continue the journey to the local handcraft stores where you will find home made products from the Yucatan culture. Enjoy the free time for dinner before the night show, the delicious Yucatecan Cuisine has a variety of flavors and Izamal has nice restaurants.

At night, the light and sound show is ready in the Convent of Saint Francis, founded by Friar Diego de Landa. The show is called Lights of the Mayas, 30 minutes among the monks burned incense out there, music, story and colorful images projected onto the arches of the convent. This spectacular show will help you to understand the mystical Mayas, between the Prehispanic and Colonial Age.
